Clinical Exposure Program Anatomy Teaching Assistance Program

Surgery of the Month

In an effort to provide its members with greater exposure to the diversity of surgical procedures, ASP offers a “Procedure of the Month” teaching module. To begin each month, a surgeon is invited to describe a procedure and its clinical application. Teaching resources are delivered via the ASPortal and may include surgical texts, video demonstrations, radiographs and/or applicable journal articles. Members are encouraged to learn about the procedure before visiting the OR to observe or participate in previously arranged scrub/observation opportunities.

The procedure of the month will be selected based on surgeon availability and all efforts will be made to coordinate the scheduling with MEDI 505, Human Anatomy course content.
